St. Paul's Grounds Committee

With Vinny Drake leaving for college the 2010 grounds committee consists of Jack and Jody Legett, Chairpersons,Tom and Sherry Kutz, Reporters to the Council and John and Bonnie Bodensteiner. New members are always welcome.  E-mail Sherry at relivfan@yahoo.com to volunteer.

We are thankful for the help of all our Adopt-a-Bed volunteers for 2009.  They were Matt Skovran’s family,  Jack and Jody Legett, Richard Pate family, Bill Donahue, Mike and Martha Yusko, Joe and Julia Kelly, St. Paul’s Student Council, Jeff DeBord family, Mary Pat Shephard, Mary Kay and Phil Hamer, Betty Grites, and Tom Kutz Family.  It certainly helped in keeping the grounds looking good and helped spread the effort around.  We will be offering this opportunity to Adopt-a-Bed again this year, so decide which part of the grounds you would like to care for and be ready to sign up when the time comes. For those of you who helped last year and want to do the same this year, please e-mail Sherry now as you will get first choice.

The Statue of St. Paul is now standing and was dedicated on November 15, 2009.  We look forward to putting in the ground cover this spring.  Watch the Bulletin for our work days if you wish to help finish this project.  We thank all who have helped with contributions or in any other way with this project. After all these years it is nice that we have St. Paul on our grounds.

The Alter and Rosary society had a donation given to them in honor of one of their deceased members. The donation was too be used as they saw fit.  They have decided to purchase a new 3 to 4 foot Statue of Mary entitled “Our Lady of Peace”. They decided on the statue [See pictures below] with the input of Fr. Nelson. Because this is the first large statue of Our Lady of Peace the cost is going to be higher than was anticipated. For this reason other contributions for this statue are needed.  If you would like to contribute to this project drop a check in the collection or stop by the office and drop off a contribution marked for the statue of Mary. Several hundred dollars are still needed. Thanks for all your help in honoring Mary.

The grounds committee has been very successful this past year.  A lot has been accomplished but more is always needed to be done. Labor is the biggest contribution anyone can give.
